Top asked FAQs about MotherHeal's classes

  • It is recommended to wait until you are at least 12 weeks pregnant before starting yoga, but if you are feeling nauseous or unwell it’s best to wait a bit longer. The beginning of the second trimester is best time to begin.

  • If you are experiencing any complications during pregnancy – for example, raised blood pressure, regular bleeding or symphysis pubic dysfunction, please contact me to discuss whether or not yoga will be suitable for you.

  • Yoga can be practiced right up until the birth, although you may be a bit slower and you may need to alter the movements to suit your comfort. Movement is so important – right up until the birth - and yoga is a wonderful, gentle way to keep moving.

  • It depends on what type of birth you’ve had. For a vaginal birth, 6 weeks is recommended. After caesarean section the recommendation is to wait 12 weeks. If unsure please consult your doctor.

  • No previous experience necessary. My classes are designed so that everyone can participate.

Often the childbearing year is the first time women practise yoga.
